Best 3d Printers On the market ’23

The poll has since closed, what we discovered is interesting. The question was ‘What 3d printers have you used, any success’? We are looking for a TPU thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) filament option printers when we can. Tests with the NEO Max have wavered, mostly unsuccessful, unless we are swapping out filaments. Interesting right?

Generally, we’ve stuck with Creality for sometime, maybe four years or more. Today, we are looking for the best TPU lite printer. Have a suggestion? Dremel we’ve used for cutting and sanding, typical Dremel tool applications… Prusa only in theory as some products we’ve purchased have been made via a Prusa lab or outsource printer. Anyhow, we are looking for feedback or comments, kindly leave your commentary below.

Please note, if you’re looking to swap out resin liners (if you can find the correct ones for CL-89, buy a number of them, cause they are hard to find when the global stock is low).

New Halot Sky LCD

…I know, we started the last post with “Before you start your own 3d printing…”; this post does follow suit. Looks like a bad LCD screen, lcd screen needs to be replaced, same for the film stretched over the resin vat or just some resin damage for that matter.

We swap out the mono LCD screen on the deck of the Halot Sky while we wait for a new FEP resin vat. Please note, if you’re looking to swap out resin liners (if you can find the correct ones for CL-89, buy a number of them, cause they are hard to find when the global stock is low).

Swap details: deconstruct, remove all screws, cover and metal panels… careful to disconnect wire and ribbon cable for the touchscreen (just be careful). Replace screen ribbon in the quick connect, construct, careful to replace ribbon and black wire for the touchscreen.

Two, clean up any resin residue, pour over and/spillage now, I think this is where we went wrong. Spillage got under the screen as you can see in the featured image for the article. Have a bottle of alcohol available to make this clean up effort as effortless and easy as it can be. It took about 15-20 mins overall, like I said, lots of spillage. Anyhow, lastly, remove the ribbon tape surround and a few screws gets you access to the LCD screen. Just take your time, easy if you’re careful to not rip the LCD tape, or misplace a screw. You can always find new pieces for lost items, just check out the Spare Parts or our go to for parts over on the eBay Shop. We will have a link to our warez, it’s taking sometime, logistics issue as you can imagine. We sell our wares from time to time there as well. Check em out, we’ve got some Stephen King books up there now. Lastly, for those who just need the FEP release film, and for our future reference – FEP Release Film. A side note, FEP film is apparently hard to find these days, eBay might be your best bet to find spare parts, consumables and film. Cheers.

Your Google Activity, What You Need To Know

I thought I would throw this out there, for those of you who don’t understand internet ‘activity’ and how to quickly review, remove, delete and stop activity in it’s tracks.

Quick and easy, hop on the computer of choice, assuming you have Google membership… type in myactivity.google.com. If you’ve never seen this before, please do, do your research… Dig up the files on how to ‘turn off’ your activity, assuming you want the ‘tracking’ removed. Also, what I found helpful is to remove your account, start a new account with all the ‘tracking’ stuff turned off.

Again, that address again, myactivity.google.com. Have a look, good luck. Same can be done on your mobile devices, for either Android or iOS. I’ll post those items in the next few weeks.

Need A Charge?

Before you start blasting me about wattages, amperage, safety and/or reality etc. I meant to post this back in December, just didn’t get around to it until now. The situation is futile, no power, storm knocked out your power or your car battery died and you’re in a pinch. Phone is dead… and you need a charge? This hack will help you while you are in a pinch away from the comforts of home. Camping? Off-grid? Broken Down?

Typically I stay away from cellphone hacks, but this one is interesting being the start of hurricane season. Having gone through storms, tornados, hurricanes i.e. life without power… sometimes the simplest things can help ‘warm up’ the situation. I’m not saying you should go out and stock up on batteries, clicky-pens, nails and used charger cords… but maybe have a few laying around, in a pinch.

This hack has been around for sometime, some folks say off-grid life and underground living might call for power alternatives, and this one might just be up your alley. In any case, we hacked up a few generic charging cords, spliced those together, added a car charger and a few 9v batteries and voila! We’ve got some juice for the cellphone battery. This hack might work better if you can find a better battery, or even the RC/Drone battery type – looking at 9v, LiCB or 4s/5s LiPos. Whatever the flavor, you might have these items laying around the home, office or shop, depending on your life situation. We have these items around the workshop, so… as you can imagine, these things might come handy in a serious storm or power outage situation.

CoC: Legend League Update

CoC: Legend League at 5000+ Trophies

Legend League Updates – Level 15, Hero Updates… Legend League. The trophy push has ended for now, topping 5095 for now. No need to continue as I’ve got upgrades: hero(s), defensive troops/buildings, new pets to upgrade.

Picking up where we left off, the latest post being the new level 15 Townhall (TH) upgrade, new characters, pets and more… Since then, we’ve been fighting out, making a strong trophy push, a push to see where we can go without trouble. Legend league is different than normal play, with limitations on battles per day, trophy retention etc. “We battled around, and found out”. Quickly finding out, our clan or TH status is not ready for primetime. The Legend League it self is different, fun* and another interesting take on the game… *fun being relative here, the league is no joke. We are able to maintain ~100 without losing or gaining trophies, but this kills upgrades. As far as our TH/clan setup, it’s not ready for primetime as mentioned above. It needs some work as it is not ready for the onward and upward slog within the league.

This particular profile is unique to my others, probably used the most, certainly has the most troops upgrades. That said, any one and everyone can make the Legend League with some stipulations… Although any CoC member can trophy push past the 5000+ mark, the catch; there are far more players maxed out waiting to ‘take your lunch money’. CBA (Cost-to-Benefit)/ROI (Return of Investment) whichever one you want to use here – Mild benefit with a non-maxed clan, no gold lost…

If you need to upgrade, my suggestion is to drop out and farm until you can max your clan. Of course, you can’t make money, elixir or dark elixir to max your TH either. 8 battles a day, you get what you earn during those battles… at the end of the day, trophies earned or taken are added/subtracted from your total and those who remain above the 5000+ threshold remain. Caveat, I’m now just below 4800 trophies, on my way down… still, I remain in the league. This was a good test for my clan/TH, much more work needs to be done to get this profile up to the level needed to compete in the Legend League. Enjoy, Clash On.

Typical application on the trail, parts break all the time, certainly in the most unusual ways. Need a weld? We are fix’n to weld up stuff around the shop using an old trail welding trick with two car batteries, Optima Batteries of course. The two Optima’s we have laying around the shop.

Thought I would go ahead a post the @BleepinJeep video on “Welding with Jumper Cables and Car Batteries”, handy to have around, just take out the old mobile computer and have a look when you take to the shop. We’ve got our own Optima Red Top batteries ready to go for this application, just need to give this a go. A few items are still needed to make sure we can ‘trail weld’ safely and correctly.

Clash Updates – Level 15, Hero Updates, Electro Titans, Monolyth and more

With the latest Super Cell update, Clash goes magical… the theme change is pretty good, satisfactory or more. Upgrades are held to a minimum, while Hero’s, Electro Titans and Monolyth updates fill out the update. New Hero Pets in the pet house, Frosty, Diggy, Lizard and Phoenix, cool little add with the magical features brought forth in this update. Although, Frosty, Diggy and the other pets are a few weeks out in my games, the pets are a great way to compliment hero attacks, attack strategy and types of attacks. These days farming remains core to the game as Level 15 has been reached… however the other games are down in the TH11 space and even TH6. Those of you just starting keep to the build strategy hero and defensive upgrades first, gold/elixir/dark elixir and army camps, and so on. Don’t forget to upgrade your troops as often as you can as your storage capacity increases with what I would call the secondary upgrades. Third, bombs, air bombs, walls etc. tend to come last. Plus, from my own experience, those walls and extra defensive measures are easier to upgrade last cause there is extra cash/elixir in the bank.

Lastly, there are a few more added benefits with the update, O.T.T.O over in the builder hall, same with the high level battle machine. We don’t cover it all, more so covering what we think might be more reason to stick it out while you might be an early player or new to the game. There is hope! Enjoy, Clash On.

Our S21 Experience – More performance, less pain to privacy with optional dual sim card capability. Choose wisely young Skywalker; Pain-to-Privacy, Cost-to-Performance, our take on the matter.

Update* The decision was changed, while the S205G over iPhone11/iPhone12/S21/S22 idea worked in theory… The reality here is dual sim cards are a ‘go’ on S10 and S22, not on the S20. Quick U Turn here as the s20 swap takes place, swapped out for the S21. Ultimately, the choice is the standard size, S22+ or Ultra not an ideal size for our needs. Again, the device is not the latest, nor the greatest; it’s the best for our needs.

After many, many, many months of testing; many… retesting and learning more about eSims or electronic sim cards, allowing for us to maintain ownership of the latest software, hardware etc. Again, ultimately pulling the ripcord based on performance/cost and decided on the S21…. better battery life than the S10 (w dual sim option or hybrid sim option allowing for multiple numbers on a single device), 5g cellular service, upgrades to the hardware – display, camera, when comparing other S Models, None Samsung devices – Pixel, Xperia, iPhone and other Samsung models like the Flip or Fold. S Model remains affordable in tough device saturated market, top of it’s class as far as usability, user experience, control, privacy* and blot…

Moving onto the ROI, comparable ROI in the market when comparing price/performance. An *asterisk on privacy, goal is to maintain/secure the device as much as possible without relying on Samsung, Google or other third party hacks to maintain security. A lot of work, but worth the pain/privacy ratio.. this pain/privacy is quickly becoming the ‘elephants in the room’.

Techmo Bowl – Cut Scene Great Plays, Easy Play, Play As The Most Famous Players of the time.

From Lawerence Taylor, to Walter Peyton, Techmo Bowl was the bar set for all football games. Madden, NCAA, Blitz, 2k, GameDay… all owe Techmo Bowl a head nod, not many games prior on the list beyond Elway’s Quarterback and Techmo Bowl; Techmo Bowl being the one placing the marker in the sand… Like I said, not a full list but the list covers more than 36 years (87-23) of gaming and football being one of the major sports games. The game set the bar for game play, strategy, play-time (hours spent grinding with the goal of dominating the game, a computer player or opponent). Loved the W. Peyton runs, the L. Taylor Defense, the Montana & Rice Domination; Erik Dickerson. There are more, to many to remember, there are lists for that reason – Techmo Bowl Player – Quick Reference. Honestly, another game, I spent hours of my early childhood ‘losing’ to my elders, neighbors etc. It felt like ages before I was able to ‘use the built in’ super powers or *cheat(s) to win. Not using the Game Genie, but certain plays – run or pass would be automatic. Same for defensive plays, locking down an opponent with basic plays. I can’t remember how many plays are offered, 6, 7, or 8, as the Offensive Coordinator, so game success was dependent on game play(duration).

Like many games, once you figure out the secret move, the right controller pad combination or button sequence, play etc. the game opens up, grows into a fun, exciting battle with your gaming competitor. Dominating at times. Might not have been fun for those who are just starting out, from what I remember! Not fun. Anyhow, I thought I would post a quick post on Techmo Bowl and share a game playthrough from one our favorite YouTubers – @nintendoComplete. Shout Out @NintendoComplete, thanks for keeping these games alive, and archived.

Clearly, OffRoad/Super OffRoad are one of the better NES/SNES games out there, same for the arcade game. This brings back ‘haunting memories’, some good, some bad. The reason why they were more ‘haunting’ was just trying to figure the game out as a newb-gamer back in the 80’s.

This Office Life, see what we use, our daily driver (comfy game chair), adjustable desk, Gaiam desk chair for guests. Traditional office setting, new materials and comfy options

GT Racing fan? Trading up day, moving on from the traditional office/exec chair, like the current ergo-exec chair Serta Jennings – B/T Ergo Chair sitting in the office today. Today, we go racing! GT Racing is the gaming chair of choice, my choice moving forward. Pictures to follow once received. More specifically, the GTRacing GTX320-Black. Reviews look good, leather, good support, comfort like a car seat (personal selling point) – including height-adjustable arms, lumbar and headrest, and near 170° recline. Shipping is a few days out, bummer. However, the new chair will compliment the office space quite well.

The current setup here in the office includes a height-adjustable desk, which the title allows the desk to be raised and lowered with a manual paddle-like button… A more modern, Gaiam yogi-chair balance chair… but now I’m thinking, the longer sitting times might need a bit of an upgrade, that car-like seat for extended coding sessions and conference/phone calls. Coding sessions are a bit cumbersome, back pain included. So, it’s time for that upgrade.

Lasting Memories, Do you miss those days down on the farm, sharing smores, fishing, fireworks, campfires and stories by the lake?

Way, way back when, farm fires i.e. bonfires at the fire pit were a weekend treat. After a long week of hard work, sweat and dirt, a campfire by the lake was where we would be. Family, friends, most have come and gone… Remembering those days is just as important as looking ahead to the days we spend around a future fireplace, campfire, bonfire or firepit.

I wanted to do a throwback post about the days of past, only to quickly refocus that energy on the future, a future time with friends and family. In the new year, stay safe, be well and enjoy time with people you care about most. We thank those of you who support our efforts, our vision, our families. We will be bringing back 1fyr videos once the pool cage is complete… It’s been along time, some 8 months since our last video post to 1fyr.com. So, if it’s a campfire that brings back a memory (a fawn memory down on the farm); it did for us. Enjoy the New Year, be safe, be well. Happy New Year.
