Lab Work – Review – Elden Ring DLC – Shadow Of The ErdTree by @theRadBrad and @fightnCowboy
First of all, let’s kick off the Elden Ring DLC Video Review with compliments and kudos to @theRadBrad for the Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the ErdTree and @FightnCowboy for their DLC coverage, play-throughs and game play. We appreciate the hours you both put into covering the game as content creators. Obviously, the skills needed to complete the main game and the DLC are something I don’t have (yet), but thanks to you both, it might be possible one day.
Secondly, the process of sharing content on YouTube for the masses is at an exceptional pace. Both of you have a tremendous number of followers, with videos and playlists going back many years. This article is a compliment to the two content creators, and a show of appreciation for their game play.
BorneSouls Experience
So, let’s stay topical, IMO (in my opinion), the best game to date. My gaming knowledge is somewhat superficial, so take it with a grain of salt. Let me set the stage: while working, most of the time, if not all the time, I’ve got YouTube running content on a tertiary monitor for this very reason. Again, I say it’s topical (superficial is a little harsh), but out of all the games I’ve purchased and played over the years, this seems to be the best all-around game. Now, the caveat, unfortunately, my limited experience with BorneSouls games places me in the novice to beginner category. That’s a timing thing. My time is focused on the business, complemented by such YouTube creators.
Content Consumption
It’s fair to say that I’ve watched most of @theRadBrads public content, mainly focusing on new releases and delving deeper into digging more into niche games and Final Fantasy type games. So, yes, it’s fair to say I’ve grown accustomed to the play-through cadence and tempo that Brad publishes. This cadence can certainly be influenced by his members. with shout-outs for likes and subscribes. Always go to see, content driven by members. Furthermore, I think that is where other creators can help or complement game play, walk-throughs, guides, etc. This is where @fightnCowboy comes in. Again, it’s about complementing the two content creators rather than comparing the them.
I’ve more recently added @fightnCowboy to the manual playlist, depending on work load. Right now, I’m cruising through The Last Faith play-through again. It’s great content for coding, writing and creating if you ask me. Honestly, my schedule is all over the place, so I could spend more time watching livestreams. On that same point, I gravitate towards the D&D games, RPGs and ‘beat ’em ups’. Lately, from a nostalgia perspective, the ‘beat ’em ups’ have been at the top of the playthrough list. This includes the Elden Ring games, BorneSouls, ‘metroid-vania’ style games, Hellblade, Ghost, God Of War, Assassins’ (really too many to note here, but we will continue to cover such games and give insight where applicable).
Elden Ring Experience And DLC Next Steps
I’m currently stuck on Margit myself. I have a Samurai Build that is more focused on farming. Farming is where I spend most of my time these days. Margit keeps spoiling my progress, acting as a blocker for weeks. So, for now, I’ll stick to farming. At least until I do more research, watch more videos, and see more play-throughs that can help me get past Margit. I have to admit, I wouldn’t have made it this far without the play-through content; it’s essential. I just need to spend more time in the game chair to make progress. I’m determined to get there, even if it takes me all year.
It’s fair to say I’ve failed miserably at finding time to play and progressing through the game has been a bit more challenging. Limited time has meant limited play, so farming has beome more of a focus these days as my character is still in the early stages. I have found a few farming areas with giants, common turtles, poison blobs, and more. So, I am spending the much needed time farming and upgrading my character (samurai). I definitely need to clean up a few giant farming sessions and spend time leveling up.
Moving onto the DLC, we can’t access it until we finish Elden Ring, main content). It might take me the rest of the year.
From a content perspective, I have been reviewing the gameplay and walk throughs, which is important as I am so far behind on the main content and just wrapping up the last phases of the Elden Ring DLC. This is by far my personal favorite game to watch, and I can’t wait to play it myself. It acts as a fantastic follow-up to the original game. Hats off to the creators and designers of this series, which hopefully continues like the other BorneSouls games. Dare I say, the DLC should be announced or voted as game of the year? Perhaps even more.
Lastly, I want to steer away from comparing the two content creators and instead five a shoutout to both @theRadBrad and @FightnCowboy. This article is intended to be a quick read, a followup to the DLC video, and a platform to share our thoughts on the DLC. It is also a recommendation, highlighting Elden Ring/Elden Ring DLC play-through. Ultimately, it is another reason why you should watch other content creators and gamer playlist.
