Capo

Replaced: D’Addario Capo

Gear – Capo (Capotasto)

20 mins a day, now includes a capo.

I’ve checked all around the shop, the office, the home etc. everywhere… as you know by the post title, I had to find a replacement… Sweetwater – D’Addario Capo arrives and we are back in business. For those who are not on board, capo, or clamp, a clamp which can be placed on a desired fret to ‘shorten’ the fretboard. Bringing the nut to the higher number frets. Ideally, we picked this one up, for both acoustic and 6-string electric guitars.

Quickly, I’d like to note the missing capo, the original capo around the house – the Sweetwater – Kyser Capo. Great capo, black… easy to use for those of you who might want to start practicing with a capo. Both great capo options the Sweetwater – D’Addario Capo or Sweetwater – Kyser Capo, get yourself one today…

Filament Spool Update

Creality Digital Spool Rack

Spool Rack

Gear – Filament Rack

Needed an additional part/piece, this Creality Spool Rack.

Today, we should have our final, final piece* for the build… the last item being an overhead rack, specifically the Creality Digital Spool Rack which will sit upon the top brace/cross-bracket. The spool rack will allow for multiple filament types (PLA/ABS/Nylon/Wood/TPU), TPU specifically to unwind down from the top cross-brace, directly into to the new direct drive/extruder. Handy little rack, replacing the OEM side mounted rack, this one an OEM rack, has a digital scale and a great option while the printer is down. Otherwise, I’d print yourself a rack for the top brace… go with something you can create on your own. Note, I’ll still print up our own, once the printer comes back online and both the TPU, ABS, Nylon, Wood and/or PLA. All material come into scope once the direct drive is up and functioning as expected.

Gadget Backlog Update

Klein Screwdriver Set, Shure MV7 Podcasting Kit, and Aupus Air Duster

Gear – Backlog

Quick update on the Gadget Backlog, SHURE MV7 Microphone Podcast Kit, Air Duster (A.K.A Air “Cannon”) and Klein Tools Precision Screwdriver Set.

Both positive and negatives, the Klein set is a big win, those of you needing a sleek, high-quality, tech/electronics platform; Klein is the way to go. Same for the Aupus Air Duster… a handy, handheld, to blast away dust and debris… And the Shure MV7, same on quality, and crip sound quality, the best with Shure.

Let’s start with the ‘good’ vs the ‘bad’ or ‘ugly’ movie reference “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly – Clint Eastwood”. Let’s cover the precision screwdriver set and air duster. First, the Klein All-In-One Precision Screwdriver Set. If you’re working with smaller appliances – coffee/espresso machines, vacuums, toys, gaming equipment, computers, phones or tablets (Apple specifically). You’re gonna need an elevated, array of tech gear and tools such as – glues, adhesives, adhesive ‘strippers’, grounding elements or bands, gloves, fans, schims or prying tools, same for hex/Torx bit heads… Just to name a few. In many cases, if one was to change out a generic computer battery (Apple MBP) you might need – micro Phillips-head/Torx, pry tool, schims, glue stripper, gloves, heating elements, grounding band, adhesives and then the micro Philips-head and Torx to secure the updated battery array and shell Hopefully you can understand here, the Klein All-In-One covers the range of electronic screws and bolts used in the latest gear. Just want to spend a few mins on the screwdriver set which comes in a sturdy, rugged, hard plastic box (tough box)… with what Klein calls a stay-shut latching mechanism, again, handy to have when your carrying mini-bits/drivers around. The case is great for indoor/outdoor, ‘shop-like conditions’ which may not be pristine per say. Contained within the tough outer shell, a magnetic hand screwdriver base or platform for ‘finger tightening/loosing’, a preformed bit section for 39 extra-long driver set which includes – flatheads, hex, Torx, square, star and Phillips-head bits. Those of you needing Apple specific driver bits, check out this set and pick yourself up a set(not a paid advertisement). High quality stuff, easy to use and magnetic. Always nice and handy to have magnetic tools for very small applications, those of you who require small tools for small screws, clips and bolts. Great set for those who need one, pick one up a Klein Tools.

Moving along now, staying with the ‘Good’. No cans, no more air canisters, missing straws, cold hands and/or the storage space for air cans. Nope, the Aupus Air Duster is a win for two reasons, space and strength. No need to save space for 5 or more cans of compressed air. We are talking desktop or storage space for those of you working in tight office spaces; the DIY(do-it-yourself). The Aupus purchased has two settings of air pressure or strength, both will help push dust and debris out and away from it’s intended target. Sound is constant, no shuddering or sputtering, no power loss or surging. The air duster is made of rigid plastics, great for many applications around the shop – featuring a friendly grip, multi-speed selector, filtered intake and a set of cleaning tools – brushes, extension tube, additional filters and fine funnels for more precise air distribution. No batteries, just an old-fashioned plug and play, so, plenty of power where and when you need it when comparing the Aupus Air Duster to a generic can of air.

Let’s transition to the ‘bad’ or mixed review now. The ‘bad’, might be a little harsh.. When sticking to the theme of “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” perhaps the final product covers the bad and ugly. For the sake of the argument, let’s just use a ‘soft pass’ on the Shure MV7. Specifically due to it’s reliance on additional software. That’s the rub for this article. Which is where we feel it fails to meet expectations, so, a mixed review of sorts. The positives, sure SHURE (SHURE MV7 – Podcast Kit) makes a great product, excellent sound quality, nicely packaged for various applications – live-streaming, home recording, podcasting and more. Hardware is what you would expect from the legendary Chicago, IL – Sidney SHURE founded audio/electronics and hardware manufacturer, for nearly 100+ years, producing some of the highest quality audio (electronic gear/hardware)… it’s tough to give this one a mixed review. Honestly, I think this is why we might merge the ‘ugly’ with the ‘bad’. What ‘smokes out the deal’ for us, is the reliance on a secondary application called MOTIV. I get it, the software a need, a must. How else would you use the microphone? The software helps the user fine tune the collection of sound, amplification, distance of sound travel, and hardware recognition. Again, the rub, it’s yet another app/window chewing up space, floating desktop application cluttering up an already densely populated screen – browsers, live-streaming apps, video software, editing software and so on. You get the picture, an ugly one. Although, you may not agree, that’s fine… this is where I think the experience falls short. If there ever was a time where hardware doesn’t need an ‘application’ requirement and perhaps an additional piece of hardware, I think we would have a winner. Again, great kit, includes all the connections one would expect these days, USB-C, XLR, a desktop mount for local sound collection, and crisp sound recording.

The product was built and sold as a podcasting kit, targeting those v-logs, the interweb adventurers, the tubers, the gamers, the podcasters and/or home/office applications. All is well, until you understand, an application is required to download and run the physical hardware. The MOTIV app can be downloaded here, found on either App Store or Google Play Store. Caveat, multiple OS platforms, MacOS, Windows and Ubuntu… honestly, I was open to new gear and not said proprietary software running to manage external hardware. Takeaway, give it a shot, the microphone is fantastic, sound quality is top notch. A home-run, if I might use a sports analogy as well. ‘Ugly’ or ‘Bad’ perhaps, however, if you’re looking for a reliable microphone, sound quality bar-none, limited OS movement, well, this might just be your winning ticket. For us, however, we will pass for now.

More on the next one, cheers

Shipping Soon, BobsCNC, Magnet Switches, Extra (Shop) Batteries, Bodum Mini Whisk, SHURE MV7 Mic, Aupus Electronic Air Duster, Klein Tools 32717 Precision Screwdriver Set with Case, Med. Daddario Celluloid Guitar Picks and CnC (BobsCNC) Machines.

Gear – More Gear On The Chopping Block

What’s that in the box, ((shake)) ((shake)) what might that be? A new shipment, what is in ‘the box’ and on the bench.

Let’s first share this, BobsCNC is in the works, as space is somewhat limited at the moment. More on that soon. Batteries, I’ve got a few Optima Red Tops ready to go, a little outback welding where applicable. Fitting when discussing magnetic ‘tools’ and switches… yes, a super strong magnet that can be switched on and off with swift turn of the hand or lightswitch type mechanism. Very cool item to have around the house, shop, offroad etc. I’m curious to know (sans cost perhaps) if the welding community has a preference on ‘welding square/angle holders, clamps or plunger/light switch type, magnetic holders etc. Obviously, if you’re out on the trail, off roading – trail breakfix – integrity/rigidity might overrule OEM specs on angles or manufacture measurements. It’s time to getting your offroad rig off the trail, would something like this help to bring your efforts in line with those manufacture specs per say. Anyhow, these switch magnets might be handy to have around the shop. Various types – Angle Clamps, Magswitch Clamp, Stackable Magnets or Adjustable Angle Magnetic Welding Square.

So, let’s cover what has been unboxed… The Bloom Frother, as you know, the hand mixer had to be ‘adjusted’… a few screws, new batteries, some isopropyl alcohol… and we are back in business. You all know I’m big coffee and tea guy, if not, that’s ok too. I take my coffee and tea with a few pinches of Sugar in the Raw, and depending on the time of day; half-half just to take down the temp a step. There are few handheld ‘frothers’ out there of various color and materials… the Bloom is back to life, new batteries and ready to mix. So, happy with the purchase for now. I’ll post an update on the longterm usage of the Bloom fix. Admittedly, an alternative might be the Bodum Schimuna Whisk which has peaked my interest. Those of you in the market for micro whisk/frother, the Bodum Schimuna might be a good client gift at some point.

Moving along, the SHURE MV7 usb mic! Initial thoughts – great sound, crisp dynamic tones and easy to use, another step forward toward audio/video experiences. The microphone includes a desktop friendly microphone stand. MacOS users will need to download Shure Application to mix and control the external accessory. A little more work to get around the need to purchase additional cables, XLR adapters or fittings. Look for a deep dive, and pictures to accompany the post.

Next, we can cover ditching the air duster can for a powerful, corded air duster in the Aupus APAD15BL Air Duster. Air cans have worked for many years, great pairing with electrical friendly wipes. This plug and play air cannon has variable speeds, cleaning tools, and filters. This small, office friendly tool is a handy little gadget to have in and around the shop as well. While we are on gadgets and tools around the shop/office, we are beefing up the ole’ Makey tech tool set, specifically by adding a set of Torx screwdrivers (T3 – T10) – Tekprem Torx Screwdrivers. One downfall I’d like to call out, is the star/torx bit integrity… you got to be careful with nano screws, give it time… or you might have to replace your bits with a set like these. What I’m seeing is screw lock.. being more beneficial here, good or bad, it takes a toll on the micro-bits used to drive in or unwind electronics. I’ll push out more feedback and comments on the Torx set and air cannon as we use those items on the bench.

Finally, we put picked up a new guitar pick. Most are similar, all have smooth or textured, etc. the main problem I’m having is grip. After a few mins, grip is becoming an issue… might be the ‘player’, but slippage is a problem. Sweat being the culprit. Odd huh? So, I’ve added a mix bag of D’Addario Celluloid picks to the mix. The goal was to switch it up a bit, trying something new. Still have a few Fender Celluloid Medium picks and DunlopMax-Grip variety.

Joe Jenkins: covers ‘Africa’ On The Stylophone

Jenkins Covers ‘Africa’ by Toto

Gear – Stylophone, A Poket Synth

Musician Joe Jenkins covers Toto – Africa on the ‘stylophone’.

Great song, talented YouTube musician @joejenkins covers Toto – Africa.

Front and center, check out the Toto – Africa on the Stylophone – Pocket Synthesizer. Those of you who like the old 8 byte synth sound, check out Jay’s video on Toto. Hey, I recognize the music might not be for everyone here, your genre or your friends. The point is the sound coming out of the mobile synthesizer. For me, I can just image game developers and musicians sitting around this thing coming up with in-game tunes, the next catch/hook or 70’s/80’s jingle… dare I say it’s like discovering a pocket MOOG Modular System probably not in reality. Still very cool, and a handheld way of producing those old school digital sounds. It’s the sound these pocket synth’s produce with a stroke of a stylus. I’m not musically inclined like @joejenkins… his videos are fantastic by the way. Furthermore, check out his rendition of Toto – Africa.

In the meantime, check out @joejenkins other videos, wild… other Syth videos on YouTube, Toto music, tours and shows (Sept. ’23) and background on the band… and, more importantly, more information, video and music created on the Stylophone – Pocket Synthesizer.

Gear – Inmarsat Satellite Phone Batteries

Get yourself a backup battery, Inmarsat OEM – Original Equiptment Manufacturer batteries.

As storm seasons come and go, back up batteries, plugs, chargers etc. are always great to have on hand. In the event of a catastrophe, I always like to have a spare or two items (backup wires, charging wires specifically), in order to keep the world turning. I’ve got to dig in a bit more, I posted the OEM battery, as a reminder. However, may be at some point we can cover battery types (OEM or manufactures) for the sat phone. Gone are the days of have a battery or two for the cellular phone.

NOCO Battery Jump Box

Gear – NOCO

Recommended: NOCO Boost Plus GB40 1000 Amp 12-Volt UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter Box, Car Battery Booster Pack, Portable Power Bank Charger, and Jumper Cables for up to 6-Liter Gasoline and 3-Liter Diesel Engines.

When you need a jump start… battery dead? Keep a jump in the car. NOCO Boost plus is a safe, accessible, booster pack with jumper cables, ancillary changer for gasoline and diesel engines*. We just used the NOCO jump to start up the ’06 Wrangler… following a recent radio and headlamp update. Of course this doesn’t come without it’s own issues, hence the need for a jump.

We will share the latest radio upgrades at some point, just know we are no longer running the factory lamps, head unit, and speakers – Pioneer, Kicker, Bazooka and more…

There are a few items I recommend in a pinch, this NOCO jump box, the blast match, a charging source (generator, 9v hack, batter backup pack) and some way to fashion some clean water – for drinking, cleaning, cooking, wound care, and more. Obviously food is another, but these few items can keep you safe and sound in most cases in everyday life, hiking on the trail, driving in the car (short/long distance). A pocket knife or all-in-one EDC tool works as well, for general maintenance, tool and/or application.

Halot Sky Resin Printers

Gear – 3d Printers

With the holiday season in full swing, thought it might be worth while to do our research on a 3d printer… Extruded filament or resin? Which brand should we choose? Cost/Benefit?

We found one that fit our needs, more information once the device has been received, we’ll post an update on the device, 3d lab startup, first runs etc. Let me know in the comments below, do I go Prusa or Creality CR Series Ender series or Halot Series… There are a couple different models, filament types, series etc. to choose from; we are looking at the Ender 5 Plus, Halot Series (Resin) vs the Prusa I3 MK3S+. Perhaps some other tools to go with the printer as well, wash/cure, filament, bed, boxes/enclosures etc. Lot’s of etc etc. The point is we are looking for the best option for us, help us understand why and what might have been part of your decision to purchase a 3d printer. Should we choose something else? Dremel, MakerBot, Ultimaker, LulzBot… more out there, but we cut the list down to the two noted above.

AppleTV 4K & MagSafe Battery Pack

4K View & Battery Life On The Go

Apple TV & Mag Safe

Gear – Apple Safe Mag Pack & TV 4K

Update: AppleTV 4k & Apple Magsafe Battery Backup Review

Running an older AppleTV 4K to compliment the 4k monitors; time for an upgrade. Today is that day… I’ve decided to update the office AppleTV to AppleTV 4K so to match resolutions, color etc via dual screens, used as separate displays. The purpose, MBP has some shortcomings, as you may or may not know, first is the limitation of dual-monitors or multi monitors NOT Apple branded. Again, a new limitation per say, not sure why this might be the case; you might be able to guess. So, I’ll leave that to your imagination to suss out. The goal really is to use the new (4K) version so that I’m not required to adjust resolutions 3840 x 2160 over multi monitors (more than one) while reducing resolution/reducing pixel space via MBP settings for desktop views, apps, windows etc. That said, the new MBP still needs some work, I will be frank… I’m not a fan of the limited HDMI connections without Apple specific dongles or Apple Monitors. Ultimately, I need to do something about this at the hardware level while desiring to run dual screens without Apple branded screens, monitors, tv’s. Again, this is self imposed limitation without dongles. Unfortunately, I’ve tried multiple dongles or HDMI extender hardware/software without issue. iCreate products have their own limitations, screen observations etc. meaning Apple OS updates create software problems by iCreate device for months… when the idea is simple, simply run multiple screens, as separate screens with the same resolution. More on the AppleTV 4K to come. In the meantime, let’s cover the MagSafe Battery Pack

Trips, Travel in your near future? Tired of short-term battery usage, removing apps and settings to preserve battery life? Add a Apple Mag Safe Battery Pack. I(we) added the Apple Mag Safe for long-term battery needs, away from the office, travel, to the store… This is a great idea for those of you running ‘hot’, you know, those of you running Netflix, Peer to Peer Gaming etc. those kinds of things while not tethered to a wall jack. Let’s start there, buy one… I’ll give you my final ‘verdict’ in a couple weeks, check back soon.

As usual leave a comment below. Have feedback on the MagSafe Batter Pack? Apple TV 4K, MBP? Let us know what you’re thinking?

Apple iPhone 12, Work Phone Upgrade

iPhone 12 Update

Gear – iPhone 12

Need an upgrade? Make the jump, follow along with our own iPhone8/iPhone11 upgrade – iPhone 12

Let’s start with this, no, the need didn’t meet the demand for an ‘upgrade’ per-say… this is more about keeping up with the other Apple products in house. Want/Need ended up being more of a test like anything else… Don’t judge the messenger here, simple cost/benefit, over want/need, So, the choice was made to go with the newer iPhone 12. Not the latest, but newer than the iPhone 11. Here is the meat and potatoes; with a recent move to the SG215g for our personal ‘stuff’ it was time for a work update. That said, the move was set forth, the Apple iPhone 12 was in-hand just before the hurricane.

Not ideal, but I’ll make it short. A need to do work, work phone needed an upgrade… As stated above, iPhone 11 to 12 was a quick and dirty upgrade with it’s problems. The goal was to buy a hardened, newer device, keeping it old school, bare minimum, limited data share, no health or home IoT software etc etc with the iPhone 8. Might be the best phone made by Apple by the way. Don’t let this lead you astray, I’ve used the iPhone 8 since it came out for work, travel etc. never let me down. Thus the high mark. This is pre 10 and the XR garbage with AI/Face AI not a fan, at least this is our thought.

Making the jump from 8 to 11 was a good jump sans Apple Bloatware – Health, Homekit, Siri (again, very annoying to have bloat-ware on the platform) now iOS requirements. Short-term feedback processing power, better screen time, hotspot support and what seems like manageable privacy/security ‘settings’ provided to the user. Seems like this device is always on, sharing data which in my mind is not a good thing. More power, more is better; to do what? And does that benefit the customer? This iPhone 12 is our work option, couldn’t justify the move to the 13 or 14.

As usual leave a comment below, let us know what you’re thinking?

Sous Vide Smorgasbord

Sous Vide Success

Annova Sours Vide - Smorgasbord

Gear – Anova Sous Vide

Hungry? Prep, cook and service using an Anova Precision Cooker. Work up an appetite while you prep, cook and serve for an all day picnic. Fish, poultry, beef… Anova does it all

Skills test, put the Anova Sous Vide precision cooker to the test… Fish, shrimp, lamb, beef, chicken, pork… pork butt, all in a days time, prepare the feast for the masses or an all day picnic. 2+ pounds or more of our honey glazed, thick-cut bacon, a bbq inspired beef brisket, Italian sweet sausage with all the fixins’… chile, lime and garlic chicken and peppered beef burgers, and simple beef hot dogs. Although time is irrelevant when you’re having fun, new to precision cooking? Start early, early enough that the beef has time to cook, chicken prepped for a final sear; ready the offer prior to ‘game time’.

Typically speaking, a safe, four or five hour window, some of those who have more experience might choose a tighter window. With more experience, more time, the window would be much more refined(smaller). Duration aside, the options are limitless.

Try it all, reduce cooking times on the grill. No need to make a mess around with just the grill or stove top, whichever one you might have. Just be prepared, a precision cooker cooks to perfection. When finished on a hot griddle grill, you are your own chef at home. More on the griddle later.

For now, the feast is prepared, churning out smorgasbord after smorgasbord around that 130 degree mark. Give or take a few modifications, trial test runs… You’ll quickly learn how temperature and duration affect the outcome of your choice of protein or veggie alternatives. See what works for you. The most important thing to remember here is to seal your bags appropriately. Season your entrees with the freshest ingredients you can find, herbs and all the fixings as well. This is a great way to change up how, where and with whom you cook. What’s for dessert?

Just a quick sidenote, if you have not tried to sous vide or have not thought about the process of precision cooker via a food water bath… have a look around, some of the best food on the market has been sous vide, stored and re-heated for mass consumption. Now, I’m not saying I’m obverse to the process of using the cooking method in mass, I’m advocating for showing you that even your local, regional and global coffee shops, bars and gastropubs use this cooking method. The point, the method of cooking helps prep, heat, and serve at a very precise temperatures. Precision is key, we recently cooked a beef brisket for 3 days plus just to put this logic to test. Cheers

Sous Vide

Do You Sous Vide?

Anova Precision Cooker

Gear – Anova Sous Vide

Anova Precision® Series Sous Vide – Have you tried a sous vide machine? We cover the Anova Precision® Series Sous Vide. Say what? Sous Vide? What’s a sous vide? Give the Anova Sous Vide a go. A sous vide, you say? Have you used one yet? We went with the Anova brand sous vide cooker. Specifically the Anova Precision® system with the 16 liter container.

(( SHOUT OUT )) @IHR, we got a tip from a local restaurateur (awesome guy, awesome stuff blasting out of the kitchen by the way), the sous vide is a great way to step up your kitchen game. These Anova cookers can be found at your local Anova. Listen, there are days when you need a little pick me up, special sauce; a little kitchen magic if you will… a little magic to whip up something special in the kitchen, and those of us who wish we had some real skills or talent in the kitchen*. The sous vide machine just might do the trick.

Taco proteins – Beef, Chicken, Pork, Fish, Shrimp etc., Briskets, Duck to Corned Beef, you name it, the sous vide does it. The only caveat is time. If you can set aside time for prep, create your entrees and sides, vacuum seal the pouches and done. Generally, we set aside a 30-60 mins for prep, 2 – 10 hours for cooking. This of course depends on the type of beef, we’ve tried the toughest, unfriendly kind and this sous vide machine kicks it’s *#$. Meaning, regardless of the time the meat took a bath, the result is what we’ve come to know as excellent.

We say kick the tires, have at it, the sous vide makes it easy to prep both sides and entrees, heat and cook dishes at an exact temperature. If you want, you can control the temperature home or away with the Anova app (we don’t use it now), helpful when starting down the path of bathwater cooking. Whatever meat, veggie, protein etc. is submerged will be kept at the temperature you want. This beast does it all. If you have time and the patience to learn how this thing works… May be a few cuts of beef or chicken, some cleaned/de-veined shrimp or a breast of duck. 3 easy steps, let the machine do it’s thing… you’re upping your kitchen game from zero skills to an arbiter of food stardom. This machine does require sealed packaging, from zipper bags to vacuum sealed bags – check out Anova’s Vacuum Sealer or Amazon – Anova Sealer.

World Changing for us. Listen, there are many kitchen gadgets, gimmicks, tricks, secrets, family recipes etc. that can spice up your game. We believe this sous vide machine is a long-term investment, and thought you might want to have a go at it too. We did and it made a whole lot of difference. We share a few shots of our kitchen setup, prep gear, finishing and clean up.

*Don’t beat us up in the comments, we are simply stating ‘we’ wanted to be better in and around the kitchen; we needed serious help LOL. So we found some!

We are looking to sort out some USB devices, stickers and magnets, depending on demand. Let us know what you think about the merch, or if your looking for something special, one off, special order.

COLETTI CAMP POT

Get Your Own – Colletti Camp Pot

Camp pot - Coletti Pot

Gear – Coletti Camp Percolator

Camp Pot – Big fan of my camp perc., used for everything coffee.

Lifetime guaranteed. If you’re looking for a simple, no fuss coffee pot, look no further. We throw out the old Keurig, what a mess… The COLETTI percolator was the answer and has been now for a little under the year mark. Simple 5, 7 or 9 cup pot, stainless, no frills, glass perc. top. THE MOST IMPORTANT PIECE OF THIS CONTRAPTION! That makes this campPerc a go anywhere pot you might need in the office, outdoors or on your next campsite. This pot has been primarily used indoors, stove top, making no less than 9 cups a round. Of course you might choose the 12 cup for a few dollars more, ~$45 bucks w tax/shipping etc.

Get Your Own… Check out the Coletti Bozeman Camp Percolator. By the way, if you choose this pot, buy an extra perc glass top, the COLETTI replacement comes 2 per pack. We broke ours flipping the top wildly, like the wild, wild west during the ill-fated wash process… didn’t screw the top tight enough, flip the lid flipper and the top flew like a rock screaming out of a Roman Catapult onto the tile floor.

Hey, just a quick note… We recognize, we know, we are highlighting another gadget, but this camp perc is different. In our opinion, this is a versatile gadget/tool that can be used at the camp, on the farm, at home (gas, electric, electro-magnetic etc). We use it weekly to heat up water on the electro-mag type stove… Give this thing a try, you will not regret the purchase. We’ve used it nearly every day since the original purchase sans the days between perc glass top replacement. Seriously, one pot to rule them all. This is the one, the COLETTI Bozeman 9cup Coffee Pot Percolator. It’s fantastic, fire no problem, simple cleaning, easy care/maintenance… beats the auto coffee maker.

D90 Archived Update

Update time, a few years now… D90 has been archived, check out the details on the Nikon D90 Archival pages for details. Sharing a few snaps of the D90 a.k.a “Dub9” DSLR. Can I say “Workhorse”? Certainly not the top of the market today, but with a little love, T.L.C and a few minutes… bring your D90 up-to-date with the firmware 1.1 update. Assuming update links, firmware used, memory cards (note, new Micro-SD are not recognized; shameful, but this is how it goes). Don’t forget to become a member!
